FUTURE PLANS

Our future plans are to build a permanent Amitabha Buddhist Centre for distribution of books, CD’s and DVD’s, as well as expansion of our children’s class activities. We have been granted tax deductibility for donations over AU$2 towards our building and educational activities. Currently, we are fortunate in having the use of Bankstown Public School hall for our regular activities and we plan to continue to use this hall following the construction of our new centre. As we need to accommodate more than 120 people for our major activities, a centre to accommodate such numbers would be well beyond our means.

At the moment the Association is providing seven teachers for weekly scripture teaching in New South Wales State Schools for Buddhist students. The Association also has an accredited Buddhist Chaplain visiting three gaols in New South Wales to provide religious instruction and counseling to Buddhist prisoners.
